Outdoor Adventures - Country Lodging - Rural Hospitality

 - Country Food & Fare

In 2006, KAAPA created a national online mall for rural tourism, www.Country-Adventures.com. Through collective marketing and search engine optimization, small rural attractions can now get national exposure. Customers now have a single location to find everything rural, unique and real for sale outside the city limits. Looking for some new hunting ground? Country Adventures has it. Looking for a trail ride in Utah? Country Adventures has that too. How about a hay ride in a North Carolina pumpkin patch, home made sausage, or hand blown glass? Country Adventures has listings for all of these and more. Vineyards, farms, petting zoos, ranches, and rafting companies can all be found at www.Country-Adventures.com

Hunters Prepare!

Thursday, September 10, 2009 by Regan Jennings

As mentioned in a previous post, “Its time to book that hunting trip!”

Or,
if you’ve got a deer hunting trip or complete hunting packages to offer, its time to get them listed on www.country-adventures.com.

We’ve seen increased interest in our turkey and big game hunts in the last couple weeks.  Even our prairie dog hunts are getting more “face time” from new customers.

The customer questions aren’t hard to answer, so don’t let that scare you away from listing.  Hunters want to know – What time can I check in for my hunt?  Can I bring my Dad/Son/Mom/Aunt…?  What kind/size animals have you seen so far this year?  Is there room for my dog?

All it takes to list your hunting package or land is an original title – like “Deer Hunting Trip” or ”Lease 200 acres for Hunting”, a description of what is included – or not included, a price, and a picture or logo so they have something to look at while they book their hunting trip.

So,
Hunters – check our out hunting listings by clicking the Outdoor Adventures button to the right.

Potential listers/sellers - go to www.Country-Adventures.com and click on the “Free Rent” sign you’ll see on the home page.

We look forward to hearing from both groups!

Thursday, September 10, 2009 by Regan Jennings Ever wonder what www.Country-Adventures.com considers “Rural Hospitality“?

At Country Adventures, we’ve got a whole section for Rural Hospitality.

Every listing in this section is based on an authentic farm- or agriculture-related activity or experience – like wine and vineyard tours or a family ranch vacation. Work side-by-side with a farmer for a day-or simply be a spectator as you marvel at the sophistication of today’s ag producer. Take a personal tour of a farm, cattle ranch or dairy. This is your chance to see how agriculture has changed since the last time you were on Grandpa’s farm—and to share with your children the farming heritage of our great nation.

The farmers, ranchers and rural residents who have listed here have opened their doors to you—inviting you to spend some quality time learning, doing and relaxing at their homes and on their rural property.

These are real adventures hosted by the real people responsible for putting food on the world’s table.T You can get to know them-and how they do what they do-and have great fun in the process!

So,
Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty!

Hunting season is fast approaching.

Do you have your hunts booked yet?  www.Country-Adventures.com features hunting ground, outfitters, guides, and lodging.  Hunting packages are increasingly popular.  You show up with your gun (and sometimes your dog), and the hosts do the rest.  They’ve scouted out the best spots, put up stands, and are now waiting for you, the hunter.  Hunting packages include lodging, a guide, meals, transportation and meat processing.

Where are you going to find your next trophy buck?

Banjo Creek has got it all!  You and your family will enjoy panning for gold, eating ice cream, and shopping for unique toys and gifts.  The petting farm will also keep you busy with the multitude of animals - including a pig, miniature cows & horses, llamas, goats, chickens, and giant Flemish rabbits.   You’ll find Banjo Creek listed under “Rural Hospitality” on www.country-adventures.com.

Working Cows Dairy is another idea.  See how an organic farms differs from traditional farms.  Watch the cow being milked, learn what and how they are fed, and where they rest.  Your family can tour the farm, extend your stay by renting the cottage for a family farm vacation, shop for metal artwork, wood crafts, cow crafts and organic meat.

Want something different for your family vacation?  Visit Fairhope Alpacas to learn about the alpaca industry.  But  you’ll have to make reservations in advance.  As a family run farm, they’ve got chores to fit in too.  They breed and raise high quality huacaya alpacas.  Each of the 50 alpacas that live on the farm has a unique personality and receives individualized care.

You get to choose what your family will learn and experience on this year’s summer vacation.  Just make sure they have plenty to write home about!

Looking for a family vacation idea?  Everybody likes to hit the water when the weather is hot.  Leavenworth Outfitters have several Adventure Packages to keep you cool.

They offer guided float trips for a few hours or a few days that can accommodate groups up to 16 people.  Starting near Lake Wenatchee, this river adventure is perfect for a group or family vacation.  The trips are available from April through October, and you can choose to raft or kayak.  They will even cater a riverside lunch so you can enjoy the wildlife, swim, or just relax before hitting the river again.

Thinking of taking a horse vacation this year?

Horse ranch vacations are amazingly popular with children.  They love the thought of running swiftly through the country side on the back of a huge horse.  The picture is very enticing, and after all, how hard could it be?

Well, for the uninitiated, harder than they thought.  Not everyone is comfortable on a horses back.  Think about it, high above the ground, on a moving seat that you may or may not know how to control, on an animal that is much larger and stronger than you imagined…

Well, there are ways to prepare.   First, have everyone try out the whole horse thing before you make your reservations.  Second,  find the horse ranch that best suits your families ability level.    If you are new to horses, you’ll want very tame, well trained horses.  If you are a family of experienced riders, you probably won’t be happy on a horse ranch offering only nose to tail trail rides.

Country-Adventures can help you with both types of preparations.  Under our “Outdoor Adventures” category, we have many facilities offering horseback riding lessons and trail rides.  Under our “Rural Hospitality” category we have many Ranch Vacation Spots to choose from.

With a little planning, horse vacations can be that fun family vacation you’ve been looking for.  Start your planning today on www.country-adventures.com.
